About this organization

Ropes for Riggers is a not-for-profit initiative. We are not currently a registered charity under the Income Tax Act (Canada). We intend to pursue registered charitable status in the future; until that status is granted, we cannot issue official donation receipts for income tax purposes, and nothing on this website should be taken as indicating that we are a registered charity.

Information we collect

Ropes for Riggers respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. We may collect the following information when you interact with this site:

• Contact details you provide through forms, such as your name, email address, phone number, organization, pickup address, and any message you send us.
• Scrap donation and pickup information, including company name, contact details, material descriptions, pickup windows, loading details, and public-recognition consent choices.
• Sponsor inquiry information, including your name, company, email address, and message.
• Email subscription information if you sign up for application updates or charity-status updates.
• Technical and usage information, such as IP address, browser type, pages visited, cookies, analytics events, and spam-prevention signals.

We do not currently process online monetary donations or collect payment card information through this website.

• respond to inquiries and communicate with you;
• coordinate scrap pickup requests and related recycler logistics;
• acknowledge and track scrap donations;
• send application, charity-status, sponsor, or event updates where you have consented to receive them;

Public recognition of donor companies is consent-gated. If a scrap donor does not consent to public recognition, that donor's company is not listed publicly on the leaderboard.

Sharing and disclosure

We do not sell or rent personal information. We may share information with trusted service providers who help us operate, such as our website host, email provider, analytics provider, spam-prevention provider, and recycler or logistics partners involved in coordinating pickup requests. These providers are only permitted to use the information to provide services to us. We may also disclose information where required by law.

How we protect your information

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information against loss, theft, and unauthorized access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Retention

We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy or as required by law, after which it is securely deleted or anonymized.

This site uses cookies and analytics tools to understand how visitors use the site and to improve it. Google Analytics 4 only loads after you accept analytics cookies through the cookie banner.
